The trendiest ways to wear your Kaftan

Kaftans are a great alternative to those mainstream tops and kurtis. But styling the kaftan the right way is quite a big deal. It is not as easy as you think. Here is a quick guide.

The correct fabric – Usually, kaftans are made with flowy fabrics, but you should pay attention to this special aspect remembering the occasion for which you are buying the kaftan. Say for instance, if the kaftan you want is for a beach party or for some casual day outing in summers, the safe purchase would be the one made with a natural fabric such as silk or cotton. These natural fabrics will absorb the sweat and aid you to keep the body cool even in a super hot day. For an evening party on the other hand, you should opt for fabrics such as rayon, silk, georgette, satin, etc.

The length will also depend on the occasion – Kaftans come in short as well as long lengths. If you want to wear these to office, you can go in for medium length, simple print kaftan. Team this with leggings. For casual wear, short kaftan is a good option on slim fit jeans. For the occasion of a wedding, the long one can be worn with leggings. There are also the full length gown type kaftans which you can wear to a cocktail party. All of these can be worn with the leggings of contrasting color.

Accessorize well – You can carry bohemian accessories with you if you are going to wear the kaftan to a party or on any casual outing. Talking of bags, you should stick to the small sizes because the kaftan is already giving you a very large appearance. Carry a clutch or small purse with you when wearing the kaftan. Preferably it should be of a contrasting color to the kaftan. If it is for an evening party, a shimmery clutch will be the best option.

The footwear – Just in case you are wearing the kaftan as a one piece, without wearing anything on your legs, the best option would be morocco slippers. If you are wearing a printed kaftan, the best option for your foot would be a pair of simple, nude heels. Wedges too are a good option with these baggy and stylish dresses. If you are going to a party, a shimmery pair of high heels would do justice to your look. But like we always say, make sure everything is in the right contrast. If the kaftan is black, go for golden sandals.

Wear the jewelry the correct way – When wearing jewelry with kaftans, it is best to wear the minimal. This includes small earrings and maybe a watch on your left hand. Keep it as simple as possible.

With these basic tips, you sure are going to rock your Kaftan look!
